Kunstprenteverket – Printmaking in living development
Preserving historic equipment, continuing professional knowledge and developing new artistic expressions
Printmaking is more than finished images. It is based on an understanding of materials, craftsmanship and experience developed through practical work.
Through Kunstprenteverket, Landeskogen works to preserve and continue traditions within printmaking. Historic graphic equipment is cared for while also being actively used in artistic production, education and interpretation.
Kunstprenteverket gathers knowledge about graphic techniques and creates a professional environment where artists, specialists and audiences can explore the possibilities of printmaking. By combining historic working methods with contemporary artistic expressions, this knowledge is kept alive for future generations.
Printmaking workshop
An active professional environment for artists and specialists
The graphic arts workshop is at the heart of Landeskogen’s artistic activities.
Here, artists work with graphic art and printmaking techniques using both historic and modern equipment. The workshop provides space for research, production, experimentation and exchange of knowledge.
The facilities include:
- workspace for artists
- access to graphic presses and equipment
- edition printing and technical assistance
- courses, workshops and professional development
Residency
Time, space and professional immersion for artists
Landeskogen’s residency programme gives artists the opportunity to develop new work in an environment where historic techniques meet contemporary artistic expression.
Artists can stay in the historic manager’s residence, work in the workshop and access professional support and technical expertise.
The residency programme provides opportunities for artistic exploration, production, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
From Sanatorium to Art Centre
A historic building with a new purpose

Landeskogen was established as a sanatorium in the early twentieth century. Today, its history continues through a new role as a centre for art, printmaking and knowledge sharing.
The history remains present in the buildings, while new stories are created every day through artists, professionals and visitors.
